New Delhi : A fresh political storm has erupted after US President Donald Trump shared a cryptic post on Truth Social featuring a photograph with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni from the recent G7 Summit, accompanied by just four words: “Restraining order needed.”

The post offered no explanation and did not mention Meloni by name. However, the image and timing were enough to trigger widespread speculation online, with many users interpreting it as a renewed jab at the Italian leader amid their escalating public feud.

The photograph was taken during the G7 Summit in Evian-les-Bains, France, where world leaders—including Prime Minister Narendra Modi—gathered to discuss pressing global challenges. While Trump’s message left room for interpretation, social media quickly linked it to his recent remarks about Meloni, reigniting debate over the increasingly strained relationship between the two leaders.

The controversy stems from Trump’s comments after the G7 Summit, where he claimed that Meloni had “begged” for a photograph with him and suggested he agreed only because he “felt sorry” for her. The remarks drew widespread attention in Italy and beyond.

Meloni firmly rejected Trump’s version of events, calling his claims completely false.
