New Delhi : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday addressed the IIT (BHU) Global Alumni Meet in Chicago highlighting the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) the legacy of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and India’s growing role in shaping the future of the world.

Addressing the gathering Sinha highlighted the visionary legacy of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and his monumental contribution to advancing engineering education and promoting industrialisation in India.

Speaking about the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence the Lieutenant Governor said AI has the potential to become a major engine of economic growth by combining human potential with machine intelligence.

However, he stressed that technological advancement must remain firmly anchored in ethics, core human values and strict human oversight.

Sinha emphasised that technology must be proactively guided by humanity to ensure that its benefits are directed towards the collective well being of people.

The Lieutenant Governor also spoke about the emergence of a new India describing the country as stronger at home, confident abroad and increasingly prepared to contribute to shaping the future of humanity.

He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India’s growing global stature and said the country was steadily building its own distinctive place in the world while preparing to play a greater role in shaping the global future.

This is India’s moment. This is India’s century Sinha said, describing India’s rise as that of a civilisational power that is confident, compassionate, innovative and unstoppable.

His address brought together themes of education, technological innovation, ethical AI and India’s expanding global role, underscoring the need to ensure that scientific and technological progress remains aligned with human values and serves society at large.
