Shopian, J & K : The Chaharum of former MLA and ex-Minister for Social Welfare Ghulam Hassan Khan was observed in Shopian, with people recalling his immense contribution to the district.
Locals remembered his role in Shopian’s development, including his efforts for securing district status, strengthening infrastructure, establishing the Circuit House, and promoting the historic Mughal Road.
Beyond politics, Khan Sahib was known for his simplicity, humility and close connection with people from all sections of society. He always remained accessible and raised public issues at every level.
His passing has left a deep void in Shopian. He was not just a political leader but a respected public figure who dedicated his life to serving the people.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and give his loved ones strength to bear this loss.
