Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh : Air India flight AI-1717 had to go-around (circle in the air) due to unstable approach at Lucknow airport. Rahul Gandhi was also on board this flight and passengers breathed a sigh of relief as the plane landed successfully on the second attempt.

According to the information, the pilot, keeping in mind the safety of the people, stopped the landing as the approach was unstable on the first attempt to land and took the flight back to the same height and tried to land again. Go-around is a common procedure used in the aviation sector. When the pilot does not feel that the landing is safe, he goes to the same height once again and tries to land again.
On the second attempt, the flight made a successful landing easily. Apart from the passengers, Rahul Gandhi was also on board this flight. All the passengers and crew members were found to be safe. The flight had departed at 2.20 pm and was scheduled to land in Lucknow at 3.30 pm. This incident is also in the news because recently, an Air India Express flight returned to Kochi instead of going to Abu Dhabi due to rapid depletion of oil in the engine.
