Srinagar,J & K : BJP legislators staged a protest inside the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday as the autumn session commenced, raising issues related to NHM employees, the recent power tariff hike and the regularisation of daily-wage workers.

The BJP lawmakers displayed posters inside the House carrying messages such as “NHM Employees Ke Saath Insaaf Karo”, “Power Tariff Rollback Karo” and “Regularisation of Daily Wagers”, pressing the government to address the demands.

The protest comes against the backdrop of the BJP’s stated plans to raise issues concerning employment, outsourcing, electricity tariffs and other public matters during the ongoing Assembly session.

The legislators continued to raise the issues during the opening proceedings, seeking the government’s response on the concerns highlighted by the party.

Meanwhile, the Speaker directed that the protest should neither form part of the official proceedings nor be reported.
