Srinagar, J & K : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Srinagar on Saturday morning on a two-day visit to Ladakh to participate in the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations being held at Drass in Kargil district.
Upon his arrival at Srinagar International Airport, the Defence Minister was received by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, officials said.Mr. Singh was initially scheduled to travel to Drass by helicopter.

However, adverse weather conditions prevented the chopper from operating. He subsequently continued his journey to Drass by road.The two-day Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations commenced in Drass on Saturday, where the nation will pay tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil War.
The annual event is attended by senior military officials, veterans, families of martyrs, and dignitaries to honour the courage and valour of the Indian Armed Forces.
