In a remarkable display of global solidarity, India launched Operation Amistad within just 48 hours of the devastating earthquake in Venezuela.
Two Indian Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft flew nearly 23 hours across continents, carrying 66 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including over 35 tonnes of relief material, medicines, and life-saving medical equipment.
A 41-member team from the legendary 60 Parachute Field Ambulance was deployed to provide critical medical assistance, working alongside Venezuelan authorities in rescue and relief efforts.
As heartwarming visuals of grateful Venezuelans welcoming the Indian contingent flooded social media, Operation Amistad—Spanish for “Friendship”—became more than just a relief mission; it became a symbol of India’s commitment to humanity.
When disaster struck, India didn’t just send aid—it sent hope.
