The investigation into the high-profile Ketan Agarwal murder case entered a crucial phase on Wednesday as police escorted one of the prime accused, Chetan Chaudhary, to Lohagarh Fort for an extensive crime scene reconstruction and forensic gait analysis.

The reconstruction exercise was carried out to recreate the sequence of events and verify the accused’s movements at the location where key developments in the case are believed to have taken place. Investigators are using forensic gait analysis—a scientific technique that studies a person’s unique walking pattern—to compare Chetan’s movements with CCTV footage and other visual evidence collected during the investigation.

The analysis is expected to help establish whether the individual captured on surveillance cameras matches the accused.Authorities also revisited several locations inside the fort to reconstruct the alleged timeline of events and cross-check statements, digital evidence and other forensic findings. Earlier, a similar reconstruction had been conducted with co-accused Siya Goyal, making Wednesday’s exercise an important step in strengthening the prosecution’s case.

To facilitate the investigation, Lohagarh Fort was closed to visitors, allowing forensic teams and police officials to conduct the exercise without public interference. The fort had also been shut during the earlier reconstruction involving Siya Goyal.

Meanwhile, the legal battle has intensified. During the latest court hearing, Chetan Chaudhary’s counsel, Advocate Radhikesh Uttarwar, questioned the police’s request for extended custody, arguing that the remand report failed to explain why further physical interrogation was necessary. According to the defence, the report merely referred to the recovery of an item of clothing and the proposed gait analysis, without providing sufficient justification for another seven-day police remand.

Despite the prosecution seeking seven additional days of police custody, the Vadgaon Maval court granted four days, directing investigators to continue the probe within the reduced period. With forensic examinations, crime scene reconstruction and digital evidence now at the centre of the investigation, the Ketan Agarwal murder case continues to witness significant developments.
