Train to Cover the Journey from Varanasi to New Delhi in Approximately 8 Hours
New Delhi : The Railways is preparing to launch the country’s second Vande Bharat sleeper train for long-distance passengers. The first Vande Bharat sleeper train is currently operating on the Howrah-Kamakhya route.
Following its success and the enthusiastic response from passengers, plans are now in place to operate a second Vande Bharat sleeper train between Varanasi and New Delhi. This proposed train will offer a fast and convenient overnight travel option between the two cities.
According to the proposed schedule, the Vande Bharat sleeper train will depart from Varanasi Cantt at 9:20 PM and arrive at New Delhi around 5:00 AM the next morning, completing the journey in approximately 8 hours. On the return leg, the train will depart from New Delhi at 9:20 PM and reach Varanasi at 5:00 AM the following day.
The train is expected to have a maximum operational speed of 130 kmph. However, the final timetable and other operational details will only be clarified following an official announcement by the Railways.
The Vande Bharat sleeper train will have a passenger capacity of approximately 800. The train is expected to comprise 11 AC 3-Tier, 4 AC 2-Tier, and 1 AC First Class coach. Long-distance passengers will benefit from modern amenities while enjoying an overnight journey.
Reports suggest that a trial run of the train on the Varanasi-New Delhi route could be conducted in September. Following a successful trial, preparations will be made to open the service to passengers, with the launch likely taking place by Diwali. However, the Railways has not yet announced the specific launch date or the fare structure.
