Madhya Pradesh : A horrifying family tragedy has shocked Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, where a 30-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and three children with an axe following a prolonged domestic dispute, according to police. The incident reportedly took place on Saturday morning in Kabirpur village, where the accused, identified as Dwaraka Patel, allegedly attacked his wife Khema Patel, 27, and their three children while they were asleep. Police identified the children as a 7-year-old daughter, Urmila, a 5-year-old child, and two one-year-old sons, according to the information provided.
Investigators said the couple had reportedly been facing marital disputes for more than a year, and around six months ago, Khema had allegedly filed a dowry-harassment complaint against her husband at Magron police station. Police said the couple had another argument on Friday, after which relatives intervened and managed to calm the situation. However, after Khema and the children went to sleep, Dwaraka allegedly attacked them with an axe. In a disturbing development, the accused reportedly did not flee after the killings and instead remained outside the house with the axe, waiting for police to arrive.
Police are investigating the case, including the earlier complaint and statements from family members, to establish the circumstances and sequence of events. The shocking incident has once again raised serious concerns about prolonged domestic disputes and the need for timely intervention when allegations of violence and harassment are reported.
