Pulwama, J & K : As part of its continued efforts towards community welfare and public outreach, the 185 Battalion CRPF organised a free medical camp at Wakherwan village in Awantipora area of Pulwama district on Tuesday providing essential healthcare services to local residents.

The camp organised under the CRPF Madadgar initiative, aimed at making basic healthcare accessible to people in the area while further strengthening the bond of trust and cooperation between the security forces and the local community.

A total of 208 people, including men, women, children and elderly residents from Wakherwan and adjoining villages availed themselves of free medical consultations, health check ups treatment and medicines during the camp.

Medical services were provided by a team of doctors from Ujala Cygnus Hospital, Srinagar, including Dr Umar Dentist and physicians Dr Zahoor and Dr Arbeena along with Unit Medical Officer Dr Salim Bilal.

The medical team attended to patients and provided necessary advice and medicines.
The initiative was organised as part of the Battalion’s ongoing Civic Action Programme which focuses on extending essential services to people particularly in areas where access to specialised healthcare can be challenging.

The camp received an encouraging response from the local population, with beneficiaries appreciating the CRPF’s initiative and timely healthcare assistance.

Officials said such programmes also provide an opportunity for greater interaction between the Force and residents and help promote mutual trust and goodwill.

The camp was conducted under the guidance of Shri Hemant, Commandant 185 Bn CRPF, and marked the eighth free medical camp organised by the Battalion during the current year.

Senior CRPF officers, including Second in Command Kuldeep Singh Rana, Second in Command Dharamdas Chourasiya and Assistant Commandant Mukesh Kumar, besides other officers and personnel were present during the programme.

Representatives of the local Police and civil administration also attended the event.

The CRPF said such welfare oriented initiatives would continue as part of its efforts to contribute to the well-being of communities and strengthen people centric outreach in the area.
