BJP Yet to Decide CM Face for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Polls 2027
New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet decided whether Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be the party’s face for the 2027 Assembly elections, with Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary stating that the final decision will be taken by the party’s Parliamentary Board.
Speaking during his visit to Ghaziabad, Chaudhary expressed confidence that the NDA would contest the elections with complete unity and secure an even bigger mandate than in 2017. Responding to questions on the opposition’s PDA campaign, he said he had no knowledge of it and reiterated the NDA’s strong electoral preparedness.
He also defended the government’s handling of the alleged Ram Janmabhoomi Trust donation irregularities, asserting that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty while emphasizing the religious significance of the Ram Temple.
On the NEET paper leak controversy, Chaudhary said the Modi government acted swiftly by arresting the accused and maintained that the Centre is committed to ensuring the harshest punishment for those responsible.
Rejecting demands for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, he said paper leak cases have persisted for years and that the government is working with experts and stakeholders to strengthen the examination system and prevent future leaks.
