New Delhi : Delhi Police has designated three new venues for protests and demonstrations Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground and CBD Ground in East Delhi while de.notifying Jantar Mantar as a designated protest site.

Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar announced the decision, which follows the constitution of a committee by the Union Home Ministry to identify suitable alternative venues for public demonstrations.

The move aims to provide designated locations for citizens to organise protests and demonstrations while ensuring that their right to peaceful assembly is accommodated.

The newly designated venues are expected to serve as alternative locations for public gatherings and demonstrations following the removal of Jantar Mantar from the list of designated protest sites.

The decision comes amid efforts to identify suitable spaces for public demonstrations in the national capital, balancing citizens’ right to protest with administrative and public order considerations.
