Boeing 737 Loses Contact While Returning From UAE to Karachi; Five Crew Members Onboard
New Delhi : A major aviation emergency has unfolded after a Pakistan cargo aircraft went missing over the Arabian Sea while flying from the United Arab Emirates to Karachi. The aircraft reportedly lost contact with air traffic control on Tuesday night, raising concerns about the safety of the crew members onboard.
According to initial reports, five crew members were present on the flight. Aviation officials said the Boeing 737 cargo plane was returning to Karachi when contact with air traffic controllers was lost around 300 kilometres from Karachi. Reports suggest that the aircraft had indicated a possible issue with its navigation system during the flight.
Soon after, the plane reportedly began losing altitude rapidly.Air traffic controllers attempted to guide the aircraft and restore communication, but the efforts were unsuccessful. Within minutes, the aircraft disappeared from radar after showing a sharp descent.
Around 14 hours after the aircraft went missing, Pakistan’s Navy and Air Force launched a joint search and rescue operation to locate the plane and its crew. The Pakistan Navy warship PNS Zulfiqar has reportedly been deployed for the search mission, while surveillance aircraft have also been sent to scan the area.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the location of the aircraft or provided any update regarding the crew members. The missing aircraft is reportedly a 27-year-old Boeing 737 cargo plane operated by a Pakistani cargo company. Flight tracking data showed that the aircraft was flying at an altitude of around 35,000 feet and travelling at nearly 790 kilometres per hour before communication was lost.
The sudden disappearance of the cargo aircraft has raised several questions about possible technical problems, navigation failures, or other factors that may have caused the incident.
Search teams are continuing operations across the Arabian Sea as authorities work to locate the missing aircraft and determine what happened during the flight.
